About Club:

The Dance Club of University B.T. and Evening College has been established from the academic session 2025–26 with the aim of nurturing students’ interest in dance and the performing arts. Conceived as a vibrant cultural platform, the club encourages students to express their creativity, emotions, and aesthetic sensibilities through the graceful language of rhythm and movement.

The club promotes the learning and appreciation of major Indian dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, and various folk traditions, allowing students to experience the richness and diversity of India’s cultural heritage. At the same time, the club places a special emphasis on the Bairati dance tradition, deeply rooted in the cultural landscape of the region. Inspired by the soulful strains of Bhawaiya songs and the rhythms of rural life in North Bengal, students are encouraged to learn and perform this unique regional form, thereby preserving and celebrating a valuable local heritage.

Through regular rehearsals, workshops, and performances, the club helps students develop rhythm, coordination, and stage confidence. The Dance Club thus adds a vibrant rhythm to the cultural life of the college, where tradition, creativity, and youthful enthusiasm move together in harmonious steps.
